Marble Tile, Mosaics and Trim
Marble has defined luxury interiors for centuries, from its soft veining to the way polished stone catches light. We carry marble from quarries in Italy, Spain, Greece and Turkey, in formats from penny-round mosaics to large floor tile.
Popular marbles
Carrara White (soft gray veining on white), Calacatta Gold (bold gray and gold veins on bright white), Thassos White (near-pure white), Oriental White/Asian Statuary, Crema Marfil (warm cream), Calacatta Oliva, Emperador Dark (chocolate brown), Black Marquina (black with white veins), Bianco Venatino, Diano Royal, Tundra Gray and Botticino.
Finishes and formats
Polished marble is glossy and reflective. Honed is matte, feels softer, and hides etching and scratches better on floors. Tumbled, leathered and split-face finishes add texture. Mosaics make up a large part of the collection, including herringbone, hexagon, basketweave, penny round and brick. You'll also find 3x6 and beveled subway tile, 12x12 to 24x24 field tile, borders and trims.
Where it works
Bathroom floors and walls, showers, backsplashes, fireplace surrounds and entries. For busy kitchen floors, choose honed.
Price range
Most marble field tile runs about $12 to $18 per sq ft. Premium stones like Thassos and Calacatta run up to around $33.
Care
Seal after installation and reseal periodically. Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Acids like citrus, vinegar and wine can etch marble, so wipe spills quickly.
Finish with matching moldings, baseboards and switch plates.
